New or thinking of visiting?

We feel honoured that you are thinking of visiting, we know visiting or looking for a new church is a big thing.

We wanted to let you know what you might expect when you arrive. Our Welcome Team are positioned at the entrance and will greet you when you come inside the doors. If you’d like some extra information there will be someone at the blue Guest Services booth, which has brochures and information for our visitors.

At this time, we have Sunday School for ages 3-12 that starts just before service with check-in located in the foyer. We also have a room off of the main auditorium for nursing moms. You can find out additional information about our kid’s programs here.

A normal service starts with about 30 minutes of worshipping God together to live upbeat music. During this time people sing (masks are recommended and available for use), sit quietly and some even dance or lift their hands. We encourage people to connect with God during this time and expect Him to meet and encounter them.

Our time of worship is followed by some short announcements for upcoming events. Then our main speaker will share a message based on scripture from the Bible. We finish our gathering by inviting anyone that would like to receive prayer to come to one of our trained prayer team members who are available at the front of the auditorium. Our Sunday gatherings aim to be finished by 12 p.m. (noon). Our Guest Services booth will also be open at the end of the service to answer any questions you have.

We are adhering to all AHS protocols at this time including social-distancing, recommended mask wearing, and staying in your co-hort groups.

We hope you enjoy your time with us and that God meets you in a life-giving way!

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith.

Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

Food

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. All sessions start with food, because it’s a great way to connect, relax and build friendships.

Talk

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Each talk is around thirty minutes long and given as a live talk or played as a video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

Discussion

One of the most important parts of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
